SOG (Studies And Observations Group) has its roots in the Vietnam War, where members of a highly classified American special forces unit – known as MACV-SOG – carried a unique combat knife into the jungle on secret missions. Years later in the mid-80s, a young designer named Spencer Frazer was inspired by this knife and wanted to reproduce the original SOG Bowie knife and pay tribute to the special OPS unit that created it. What started as a single commemorative model soon became a complete line of innovative tools – field-tested by US Special Forces, even honored as the Navy SEAL knife.
