LifeStraw is a global brand that manufactures water purification products for outdoor, travel, emergencies and home use. How the technology works
The core of LifeStraw's products is mechanical filtration through hollow fiber membrane technology.
Microscopic pores : The filter consists of thousands of thin tubes with a pore size of 0.2 microns . This is approximately 350 times narrower than a human hair.
Physical barrier : When you pull or push water through the filter, the contaminants are trapped on the outside of the fibers while the clean water passes through.
No chemicals : The process requires neither electricity, batteries nor chemicals such as iodine or chlorine.
Lifespan : The standard filter in a personal straw can purify up to 4,000 liters of water . When the filter is used up, the pores naturally clog so that water can no longer be sucked through, preventing you from accidentally drinking contaminated water.
