M05 camouflage
The M05 camouflage (Finnish M05 Maastokuvio) represents a series of pixelated camouflage patterns adopted by the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005, replacing the M91 design. Development involved digital analysis of photographs from Finnish forests during various seasons, conducted by the Finnish Forest Research Institute. Included in the M05 family are several variations, such as woodland, snow, and cold-weather patterns.
The primary woodland variant of M05 features segments in light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite, accurately mirroring the composition of Finnish woodland environments. Owing to comparable vegetation and terrain, the M05 Woodland pattern also offers effective concealment in the woodlands of Central and Eastern Europe, ensuring reliable camouflage in natural settings.
